Fertility

It is estimated that at least 1 in 7 couples in the UK have difficulty conceiving, with approximately 32% of cases being attributed to a male factor, 25% attributed to the female and 17% being a combination of both partners. The remainder of infertility cases are thought to be due to unexplained causes.

Sub-fertility problems can sometimes be attributed to poor dietary and lifestyles choices. The aim of nutritional therapy is to identify possible nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances or environmental factors that may be impacting on fertility and these will then be addressed in a personalised nutritional plan. Ensuring both partners have a balanced nutrient intake can help to optimise chances of fertility and help to facilitate a healthy pregnancy if able to conceive.

Live Well Nutritional offers individual and joint consultations for partners planning to start a family.

Pregnancy

Requirements for nutrients and calories change throughout the different stages of pregnancy and sometimes the general information available on what to eat can be confusing and over whelming.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet helps to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to support the growth and development of your baby, and has been associated with a reduced risk of certain birth defects.

We take a personalised approach to nutrition, so as well as advising you on what foods to avoid, we will also discuss what foods & nutrients you can incorporate into your diet to help provide the best possible environment for your unborn baby. We provide you with advice to help you enjoy a healthy pregnancy, and this can be anything from tips for relieving morning sickness or reducing constipation, to supporting your energy and general wellbeing.
